Continual development of BECS means that new versions of the BECS software
are frequently made available
to improve performance and reliability and introduce new functionality.
BECS installations that are accessible over the Internet are updated directly by the BECS Team using our Electronic Distribution System. Installations of BECS that can't be accessed over the Internet (such as
Intranet BECS) can be updated via Update Packs using
our easy-to-use automated upgrade procedure.
This involves your staff accessing
a protected Updater screen to apply the Update Packs sent to you by our BECS Team.
Regular changes to the way in which benefits are calculated are
incorporated into BECS and made available before the go-live date.
These changes are translated from legislation into rules by Manchester City Council and combined with your new rates. These are then either
applied by the BECS Team or, where the installation is not
accessible over the Internet,
made available through Update Packs for automatic upgrade by your staff.
Upgrading to the latest hardware allows BECS to benefit from improved
performance and reliability, leading
to faster loading of BECS pages for your customers and greater overall protection against service downtime.
As part of our Web Hosting solution, we perform a technology refresh no less than every 36 months. This ensures that your service enjoys maximum availability and the latest commercially-stable features throughout its lifetime.
Additional BECS functionality can be obtained by purchasing Add-ons.
BECS Add-ons provide extra features that improve your service levels to your customers at an affordable price.
