Through the BECS Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC), the BECS Team provides
high level support for the software and hardware of your BECS installation,
wherever it is hosted.
The AMC includes:
- BECS software support by phone/email/fax
- Defined Service Level Agreement
- BECS software maintenance
- Rates and Codings updates
- Minor version upgrades of BECS software
- Free Web hosting of BECS 4.0 for Web
- Hardware support from Sun Microsystems
The AMC is included in the price of annual rental packages, but is required
at a separate annual charge for outright purchases of BECS.
As standard, the AMC offers full software support, with all queries via phone, email and fax handled by our Support Team. Queries are graded into four categories;
Emergency, Urgent, Medium and Low. Defined service levels for response and resolution
of each category are specified in the AMC.
The AMC includes updates and corrections to the rates, codings and question logic. We work
in partnership with dedicated benefits experts at Manchester City Council to ensure that BECS
is always up-to-date.
When direct access to your BECS installation is not available to our Support Team,
a member of the Team will guide you through the update process, typically taking just
ten minutes of your time.
Our recommended Sun Fire platform is covered by a one year return-to-Sun warranty. We offer extended warranties and a number of enhanced hardware and operating system support
packages, each with defined response times and customer support, e.g. 24x7 on-site
4-hour response. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
As we only supply turn-key BECS systems with Sun Solaris running on a Sun
Fire server, we are currently unable to provide hardware and operating system support
for other platforms.
BECS can be installed on other platforms but will require the purchase of a Support
Supplement on top of the AMC. Outside of the Sun Solaris
platform, we cannot provide BECS support without the AMC Support Supplement for any issues that may occur due to hardware, operating system software or security vulnerabilities
